A Man on a Mission
C. William Mercer (BS, MSLA, JD) is a New York and Colorado attorney and mediator, ordained minister, spiritual counselor and coach, and a highly-regarded adult educator. For many years, Will spent considerable time as a Child's Legal Representative, Special Advocate, Child and Family Investigator, and Parenting Coordinator/Decision Maker for the Colorado Courts and taught the Colorado court-mandated co-parenting courses for parents seeking divorce. Will also has engaged in hundreds of hours of domestic relations mediation, often grappling with contested issues surrounding parental alienation and parental responsibility in divorce. In moving to New York City, Will is focused on bringing the lessons of this experience to parents and teachers in the City through his work as an Independent Facilitator for Becoming a Love and Logic Parent and 9 Essential Skills for the Love and Logic Classroom.
Will’s experience in mediation and conflict resolution spans the fields of domestic relations, workplace conflict, and community and business issues. In the area of family law and domestic relations, he is a transformational mediator and conflict coach.
Will has been an instructor in business ethics, business structures, agency, family law and mediation for Red Rocks Community College, Parks College, the Denver Business College and the Arizona School of Real Estate and Business. He also served on the adjunct faculty of the University of Denver Sturm College of Law where he taught Dispute Resolution from 1995 through 1998.
Will is a member of the Spirituality and Family Sections of the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR), and was a 2008 Presenter at the ACR National Conference. He has served as a hospital chaplain and is a member of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE). Will also is a member of the International New Thought Alliance (INTA), and was a 2008, 2009 and 2010 Presenter at the INTA Congress.
In addition to his work as a Love and Logic Facilitator, Will currently serves as Senior Staff Minister for the United Divine Freedom Church of the Healing Christ in Harlem. In his spare time Will studies yoga and spirituality.
